U.S. Army Awards Contract for OpenAire™ Filter Systems
August 25, 2003
FREDERICKSBURG, VA -- The U.S. Army has awarded a contract to New World for 246 OpenAire™ Filter Housings for their new research facility at the Edgewood Chemical and Biological Center (ECBC) in Edgewood, MD. This facility, the Super Toxic Advanced Chemistry Laboratory (ACL), will serve as the nation’s premier research and development facility for chemical warfare defense. Air filtration systems being purchased under this contract will provide safety to scientists and the environment as part of a sophisticated building ventilation system.
The OpenAire™ Filter Housing can accommodate the U.S. Army’s radial flow gas/particulate filter set as well as the NATO equivalent. "We are pleased that the Army chose the OpenAire™ Filter System for this critical application. Their decision underscores its unique performance advantages, including exceptional air flow uniformity and ease of decontamination," said New World president Brad Repp. OpenAire™ Filter Systems will be fabricated by Anderson Metal Industries (Franklin, PA) over a six-month period.
